Corona: Open the Parks – Balance the Rates

Open the Parks

Balance the Rates

To the City of Corona

A Message From FC Riverside County

The City of Corona is discussing a resolution to open the parks to the residents. For many years, city-owned parks have sat largely empty, causing revenue losses for the city. The city is discussing a solution to provide greater park access while providing revenues to pay for the needed maintenance.

The parks have sat empty due to decades-old agreements that no longer meet the demands of our residents today. With a maturing industry that requires more needs, an economy experiencing severe inflation, and governments experiencing budget issues due to pension plans, the city can no longer afford to lose money on parks.

The Solution

To catch up with today's needs, the city is proposing increasing rental rates to a base price that would allow non-profit organizations to operate at a low cost while allowing the city to pay for proper maintenance. At the same time, the parks would be more accessible to groups like FC Riverside County.

How WE Can Help

FC Riverside County is offering the City of Corona grants to pay for park upgrades if a facility partnership can be established. At the same time, FC Riverside County promises to pay higher than normal rental rates to help the city generate a profit with its parks. Lastly, FC Riverside County provides soccer options for low-income residents through community partnerships. FC Riverside County offers a win-win solution for the community.

On top of the benefits above, we help create jobs in the community. FC Riverside County is not a volunteer-based organization and relies on paid staff. Beyond creating jobs, this helps build the industry by ensuring our future labor force access to high-paying jobs in the sports industry. Additionally, FC Riverside County is committed to research and development. Over the years, our research and development team has generated immense value for our community by founding various programs and tech solutions. Today, we stand as a leader in the industry, able to provide grant funding and long-term revenue opportunities to facilities, including city-owned parks.
